Wedding Entertainment: How To Choose and Use A Magician at Your Wedding 10 Great Ideas for Party and Wedding Entertainment
BROUGHT TO YOU WITH COMPLIMENTS BY BEST ONE ENTERTAINMENT
Party entertainment has always been popular for events, but recently we have been seeing a trend for this type of entertainment at weddings as well. Brides don't only want their guests to dance, but to be entertained too - just as if they were attending a regular party. Last year trends showed that couples getting married were booking ethnic dancers, cover bands and even their favorite band to entertain their guests during the cocktail hour and reception. This year wedding entertainment has increased in popularity and we have 10 hot tips to bring the fun to your reception.
1) Bring in the experts! If you are having a wine themed reception, ask your venues sommelier or bring in a wine expert to travel to each table to describe the wine available and answer questions. If you are having a casino themed party, hire an expert to give instruction and advice on how to play. If you are having a garden party, bring in a florist or botanist to speak about the natural decorations surrounding the party.
2) Capture the moments with photo and video booths. Photo booths have always been fun, and by renting a photo booth your guests can take snapshots of their night. Alternatively, a video booth guests can leave a message for the bride and groom - this is a modern alternative to the videographer traveling from table to table.
3) Create a spa inside the bathrooms for your guests to enjoy. There is nothing wrong with a little pampering. Surprise your guests with a make-up, manicure, and freshen up space within the powder rooms.
4) The latest in buffets is now the ice-cream parlor cart. A self-service bar like the candy buffet, guests can concoct their own ice cream sensations.
5) Love is in the stars - especially when you hire an astrologer, mystic or card reader for your party for your guests to enjoy.
6) When you fell in love, it was magical! Share that magic with your guests by hiring an illusionist to entertain your guests while they wait for your grand entrance.
7) If you share a love of theatre or the arts, you may want to hire local actors to perform a short skit from a love inspired play. Or, hire a comedian to "spoof" on the couple. This lighthearted fun will keep guests entertained during the cocktail hour.
8) Instead of wedding favors, why not hire a cartoon artist and have them draw cartoons of the people who attend your reception. Guests will enjoy taking home a picture of the day.
9) If you have time, and you are a fun loving couple, during the reception (maybe after the cake) you can have your DJ officiate a game such as the Newlywed and Not So-Newlywed Game . With the newlyweds participating, select 2 other couples who have been married for a while (this is great if your parents are still married and are willing to have fun). You may want to have your best man and maid of honor come up with the questions to ask, so you will be surprised during the game.
10) Finally, dancers during the reception still make the list. Whether you go with an ethnic group, ballet, modern, tap or jazz - people will love to watch them in action.
