Listen to Jake Foan
When I was about 5 years old, I was at my friend’s and saw that a piano had just been delivered to his living room. Growing up I hadn’t really seen many instruments and was taken away with this piano. I sat down at the piano and played for about 2 or so hours (probably making a huge racket!) I was addicted. It took me two years of begging to finally get piano lessons, and another year to get a piano.
By the time I was 15 I had reached the top of the piano and singing grades, passing Grade 8 and also achieving Grade 5 theory along the way. Luckily it was clear to me that music wasn’t a phase and I decided early that I was going to work in the entertainment industry as a performer and was determined to do whatever it would take to get me there.
On completing my first demo CD, I was accepted into Paul McCartney's University (LIPA) to study as a Singer and Pianist but instead decided to study Commercial Music at
Before long I had created my own website and was eventually receiving on average 4 wedding bookings/week. Throughout the next three years I also wrote many songs and built my own recording studio. I took additional intensive singing training and courses all over the
During this time I also travelled the world, experienced many different cultures and enjoyed meeting many types of people.
Since leaving University I have experienced many wonderful moments as a performer. One of the most memorable happened in December 2007 when I was invited by John Govier to be interviewed and to perform three songs live on BBC radio. The performance was a big success and I was subsequently asked to perform for the BBC at the Devon County Show.
At the end of 2007, I took the opportunity to perform abroad and after a brief tour of
At the start of 2008 I was asked by renowned producer Richard Donahue to record 5 songs in
Returning in September 2008 I secured recording time and a co-producer in John Ratcliff, manager and producer of 80s band A-ha, and began recording my debut album. The first tracks recorded “I Will Run” and “Once Upon A Time” were completed in October 2008. On both tracks I performed lead and backing vocals as well as acting as co-producer and arranger, performing all keyboard based instruments.
Testimonials:
"What can we say? There was not a dry eye in the house. We were continually asked afterwards where we had found you from, no one had been to a gig that captured quite the feeling that you did when you performed. We had many comments passed to us that your singing on the night was second to none...We envy those who have yet to have you perform. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful performance."
(Nicky Stuart)
"You were the first performer I came across on the internet and having watched you sing in the demo clip, I was immediately captivated by your unique style and looked no further! I was in no doubt of the phenomenal talent to which my 60th birthday guests would be treated!
The piano solos throughout the champagne reception were simply perfect for the moment - and my guests, I now know, assumed you would continue playing sedately in the background after dinner. We could not blame them for this mistake, since there was no evidence of a dance floor prior to dinner! I am sure you were well aware of their amazement and delight at the alternative! Jake, not only did you wow us all with the sheer excellence of your vocals and improvisation of all our favourites - but you performed substantially beyond the call of duty in duration!!
Andy and I send our sincere thanks for providing us all with the most fantastic night to remember, truly amazing!"

"A Born Performer" (R.Taverner)
"You were outstanding! I didn't expect, or think it possible to find a performer who would appeal to all our guests, no matter what their age - but you did. We received so many positive comments about you - "Where did you find him - he's brilliant!"
(Anita Greenslade)
"I just wanted to thank you once again for your amazing performance last Saturday. We were all really impressed. We would recommend you to anyone, and I know all our guests would as well, as they were equally impressed. It was a shame you had to pack up at the end of the night."
(Gareth Mawson)
"You made the night very special and I thank you for that. I have already recommended you to several people and have no doubt you will always have a career in entertainment."
