There is no denying that tribute shows of all kinds and ilk’s, (although originally met with some scepticism in it’s formative years) have become an integral part of the entertainment industry, and now constitutes a large part of the revenue generated throughout the world of entertainment, proof indeed if any were needed, that tribute shows are not only here to stay but have also cornered themselves a lucrative part of this very specialist market. Note the word specialist for it is something of a key word here, it takes a particular kind of talent from a single or group of individuals who seem to have the innate ability to emulate (and in some cases, almost perfectly) the icons that they portray.

Almost all celebrities both musical and none musical have now got a tribute act, or at least a look-a-like to continually carry their name forward. The late Elvis Presley is arguably the most emulated of them all, such is the Elvis appeal that almost every major town or city throughout the civilised world plays host to at least a handful of   almost fanatical followers, most however pay tribute to Elvis by just dressing in the same style, and don’t seek to take their tribute anymore seriously than that, there are of course those who are committed Elvis impersonators and make a very respectable living from their hard work and dedication.        

Not unlike Elvis, Neil Diamond also has an extremely large fan base and within that, an army of tribute paying individuals, amongst whom I’m proud to say that I’m one, I’ve worked hard to perfect what is now considered to be Europe’s number 1 Neil Diamond tribute, but not being a man that is easily pleased with his own efforts, I’m looking to gain the top title, next to the man himself of course. “A tall order” I hear you say, my answer to that is simple “yes, but a goal that is reachable, with the right amount of hard work, persistence, dedication, and most of all faith in my own ability.”
