The band have been together for over a decade performing original material, and in 2005 started as U2-II. After two years of regular performances they parted ways with their previous singer and took time out to recruit a new Bono, which eventually became Gareth Whiteside. U2-II hail from the North-West of England.
U2-II are dedicated fans of Bono et al, and this is telling when seeing the band live. While the on-stage behaviour and mannerisms of U2 are copied to perfection, the band’s creation and use of their own backing tracks allows them to recreate the layered, cinematic sound that makes U2 so special. There is not one single sound that U2-II have missed out on, and it’s this attention to detail that separates the band from the other tributes out there today.
